Ana Fernandez Saiz, producer at Impronta Films, visited the prestigious European Film Market at this year's Berlinale, in the beautiful German capital. There she met up with various international producers and investors to discuss our projects, to learn about new opportunities and to enjoy an overall memorable experience.
Due to marketing reasons, our feature film project Mudo has been renamed Cycles of Summer.
We are glad to have endorsed the participation of Daniel Martín Novel, scriptwriter of El Aguijón, in Ibermedia's Latin American Film Projects Development Course.
We attended recently the final pitching session at the closing of the course, celebrated in Madrid, where nineteen projects (including El Aguijón) were presented before members of the film industry. October 2014
We have just started a seven-day intensive promotional campaign over at Twitter, because we are candidates to the Special Award at MalagaCrea 2014 with our short film Bad Seed. The short film we are developing at the moment, El Frontón, has brought us the joy of being selected to participate in an industry event in the Pitching Area of the CoruñaFilm festival.
We are pleasantly surprised to know that our feature film project El Aguijón is among the projects selected to participate in the co-production forum part of the Hispano-Brazilian Meeting of Cinema, organised by the ICAA, ICEX and FAPAE institutions.
Great news! Daniel Martín Novel, writer and director of our short film Bad Seed, has been selected to participate at MalagaCrea 2014. If we win, we will be competing for the Special Award. Go for it, Daniel!
Ana Fernandez Saiz, producer at Impronta Films, selected to participate in this year's Buenos Aires Talent Campus, a good opportunity to meet with professionals working on new projects in Latin America.
Still more good news! Bad Seed has won the Award for Best Short Film Production in the Malaga Short Films section at the 17th Malaga International Film Festival.
Congratulations to Daniel Martín Novel, scriptwriter and director of our projects Mudo and Bad Seed, who has been selected to participate in this year's edition of the Berlinale Talent Campus.
Good news! Bad Seed, our short film co-produced with Argentina, has been selected in the Malaga Short Films section at the 17th Malaga International Film Festival.
We have just been informed that two of our feature film projects, El Aguijón and Mudo, have been pre-selected at CineMart, the co-production market of the IFFR (International Film Festival Rotterdam)!!! All the Impronta Films team are crossing our fingers and toes, hoping to make it and to go back to the Netherlands!
Update (December 2013): our projects didn't make it to the final selection at CineMart. It was still great to get the dossiers ready, and here's hoping for the next edition. Our feature film project by the Argentinian scriptwriter Adrián Ochoa, Whatever Happened to Jose Fernandez, has been selected for the Project Development Workshop at the Uruguay International Film and Human Rights Festival. Congratulations!
April / May 2013
Pre-production and filming of the short film Bad Seed (part of our feature film project Mudo) in one of the most desolate and beautiful places on planet Earth: the Salinas desert, at the North of the Cordoba province, in Argentina. It was quite an experience. As part of our travel to Argentina, we visited the BAFICI (the Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival) where we met with Hugo Colace, who we expect to be our Director of Photography in Mudo. We also met the actress Martina Gusmán, who has shown interest in participating in the film as one of the main characters.
We are ecstatic!
We have won the Development Fund from Ibermedia, the prestigious international institution. This brings a big boost to Mudo and will allow us to film a short film in Argentina, in the exact same locations where we will be shooting the feature film. The short film will be an essential tool to finally find an Argentinian co-producer. We are going to Germany, specifically to the charming city of Mannheim, to participate in the Mannheim Meeting Place, where we will meet with sales agents and will finish ongoing negotiations for a potential co-production of Mudo with Argentina.
Our producer is travelling to Chile with our project Mudo, to the industry platform AustraLAB in the Valdivia International Film Festival, thanks to EAVE. There will be one-on-one sessions to find project funding.
We are quite happy of having participated in the Netherlands Production Platform with our project Mudo: we were invited to pitch it to producers and to key people in the industry. We have enjoyed the excellent environment, a few interesting conversations and, of course, the beautiful city of Utrecht.
The icing on the cake is that we come back delighted of having met Marion Hänsel, an important Belgian producer and director, who has shown interest for Mudo. Nakas from Within is an interesting documentary film project, a quite personal story that its director brought to us to develop for the international market. It has been the only Latin American project selected by EDN (European Documentary Network) to participate in its Pitching and Development Workshop.
Mudo was selected to participate in Puentes Lab, a co-production forum organised by EAVE in Uruguay. We managed to establish relevant relationships with members of the film industry at an international level during our visit, and also strengthened the co-production structure of our feature film.
Our feature film project Mudo has been selected to participate in the Iberoamerican Films Crossing Borders event, in the context of the 27th Guadalajara International Film Festival, in Mexico. We are going there with the first finished version of our dossier and with a mock-up of the poster (in case you are wondering about the image, the protagonist of the film is a goat shepherd).
Ana Fernandez Saiz, invited to represent the feature film project Aluche, produced by El Baile Films, within the Huelva Co-Production Forum, as part of the 37th Huelva Latin American Film Festival.
Ana Fernandez Saiz, producer at Impronta Films, was invited by Media Business School and by Cinema do Brasil to participate in the course International Markets Business with an Ibermedia grant. The course has been imparted in the context of the 35th Sao Paulo International Film Festival.
Impronta Films has been invited to participate in the bilateral event Capital Regions For Cinema (CRC), organised by Madrid Film Commission and by Ile de France Film Commission, in the context of the 59th San Sebastian International Film Festival.
Being selected at the prestigious MiradasDoc Co-production Market has given our documentary project Ushca a boost and an international impact that are always quite important during the development stage of a project.
The documentary project Ushca came to us as an early idea in the mind of his director, based in Ecuador. We developed it into an audiovisual treatment, set up a research methodology and designed the production dossier, which has been selected for this year's Pitching Workshop at Morelia Lab, in México.
