Synopsis: Mudo is a teenage orphan who lives on the outskirts of a city, taking care of a flock of goats. His only family are Alfredo, owner of the flock, small-time drug dealer who has no qualms about how to make his living; Maria, prostitute and Alfredo's girlfriend, who treats Mudo like a friend; and Toro, Alfredo's dog. Mudo's life changes irreversibly when Alfredo sells the flock to an old farmer and, as part of the deal, forces the boy to spend time alone with the old man, who abuses him and gives him a brutal beating. Full of hate, Mudo locks himself inside his own mind, trying to get away from the world around him. Only the ashes of his memories will remain.
